DO I NEED ANESTHESIA
IN MY OFFICE?
Providing anesthesia with a dedicated anesthesia provider is a great option for patients. It allows treatment to be done in a controlled manner. It takes the stress out of providing care to an extremely nervous or uncooperative patient. It may allow extensive treatment to be done in a shorter time that by traditional local anesthesia.
WHO NEEDS ANESTHESIA?
I provide anesthesia to a range of patients. Certain adult patients who have a history of dental trauma may be too anxious to receive dental care without being relaxed or sedated. Other adults have complex pain histories where traditonal local anesthesia is either not helpful or ineffective for proper their dental treatment needs. I also work with children who are experiencing extensive dental decay. Children may be too young to sit and cooperate for multiple dental visits. They may also have had a previous experience that traumatized their view of dental care. These are great candidates for general anesthesia. I also work routinely providing sedation and anesthesia for our patients with special care needs.
IS IT SAFE?
I strive to make the most comfortable experience possible for both my patients and my colleagues. The one aspect that makes everyone feel more comfortable is providing safe care. You can rest assured that I follow all ASA, ADA and DBA standards for providing safe and effective anesthesia in the dental office setting. I want you, your team, and your patients to feel confident that receiving anesthesia in the dental office is not only a relaxing experience, but ultimately a smooth and safe experience. All patients are worked up pre-operatively and physical exams as well as lab results or specialty consultations may be required before a patient is scheduled. This is to insure the patients whole health is being taken into account before receiving anesthesia. All patients are followed up with after 24 hours to insure a smooth recovery from any effect of anesthesia.
